I am always on the lookout for fire apparatus with original art work on it. I want my restorations to have the techniques and the feel of these pieces. Vehicle decoration in each era had its own characteristics.

I have seen restorations by excellent pinstripers where the technique is perfect, but the stripes are in the wrong places. Modern pinstripers are generally of the "do your own thing" school. It takes a real effort and education to think like a Victorian artist and reproduce their style. I love this stuff and don't want it to fade into oblivion or be misrepresented with doodles that are "close enough" for some dude.
