There is quite a variety of letter styles on these pages. You can see some with an outline, some with a colored shadow and some letters just left plain.

If a transom is a mid-tone color, neither dark nor light ( like HOLLY ) then an outline can make the name easier to read.

A second color as a shade or outline will add some distinction to a name. GROWLER and KESTREL below are a very similar letter style. The shade on GROWLER adds a bit of style.

MAGPIE won the 2003 International Superyacht Design Award for best design and construction of a power boat between 75 and 105 feet long. It was built by Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding Inc. in Thomaston, Maine, USA.
