GOLD LEAF on BOATS
| ||||||||||||||||||
| On boats that do not have a varnished wood transom, some sort of clear needs to be painted over the gilded letters. This protects the gold from getting scratched. On CARINTHIA the entire transom has been lightly sanded. Clear paint will be sprayed on the transom when my lettering is dry. Sometimes I brush clear paint on just the letters. This is cheaper, but the clear is not nearly as thick a film. The sprayed clear lasts several more years. |
